Role at a glance
We’re hiring a Senior Data Scientist, Machine Learning to join the Data team on a full-time, hybrid basis in the United States. You’ll bring senior-level expertise to a fast-growing group that turns raw vehicle and operations data into the insights that guide our path to full autonomy.
Your impact
- Design and operate scalable machine-learning pipelines that cover experimentation, production deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
- Create shared capabilities for demand prediction and ETA estimation that teams across the company can leverage.
- Partner with fleet operations to build models that solve a wide range of real-world problems and surface high-leverage investment areas for perception, prediction, and planning.
What you'll need
You hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, and you’re fluent in Python or Scala with solid experience writing SQL. You’ve worked with Spark or other large-scale data tools, and you know how to craft metrics, generate actionable insights, and influence decisions at multiple levels of an organization. Strong communication skills in English are essential. Experience training models with PyTorch on GPUs, basic C++ fluency, or working with geospatial data is a plus but not required.
Perks and compensation
The base salary range for this position is $178,000 – $294,000. Total compensation also includes Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, and eligibility for a sign-on bonus. Compensation varies with location, experience, and skills.
