Data Science Manager at Jungle Scout

We are looking for a talented Data Science Manager to join our fast-paced, customer-focused engineering team and help us push the boundaries of what our data can achieve.

Role at a glance

This is a full-time, remote management position. We are looking for an experienced leader to guide our data science and machine learning efforts. You will be based anywhere between the PST and EST time zones across Canada, working with a team that values autonomy, growth, and high-impact contributions.

Your impact

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to advance our technical craft.
• Manage the lifecycle of core models, including sales estimates and keyword search volume, while spearheading research and development for new product features.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineering teams to ensure high-quality data pipelines and model performance metrics.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role, you should bring a blend of technical expertise and compassionate leadership. We are looking for someone who is fluent in English and possesses the following:

• Proven experience managing Senior-level data scientists and machine learning engineers.
• A deep understanding of the full model lifecycle, from initial concept to production-scale deployment.
• Hands-on technical proficiency with Python, SQL, AWS, Sagemaker, Airflow, PyTorch, and Metabase.
• A strong focus on customer outcomes and the ability to translate complex business strategies into actionable team goals.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on coaching, empathy, and developing formal growth plans for your team members.
