The role
We are seeking a Data Science Manager to lead our consumer credit initiatives. This is a full-time, senior-level position based in Spain, operating in a remote capacity. In this role, you will take ownership of our credit modelling strategy, including pricing and production deployment. You will be a key leader at the intersection of data science, product, and credit risk, helping us build the foundations that drive our underwriting and portfolio performance.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust credit scoring, affordability, and behavioural models to support our underwriting and pricing strategies.
- Design and execute experiments to optimize approval rates, manage loss rates, and improve overall profitability.
- Collaborate closely with product squads to integrate sophisticated decision logic directly into our real-time systems.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in quantitative analysis and leadership within the fintech space. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in data science or risk analytics within the financial services sector, including 2 years in a management capacity.
- Deep expertise in credit risk, consumer lending, and the associated regulatory landscape.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language like Python or R.
- Proven experience with machine learning, A/B testing, and collections modelling.
- The ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to business stakeholders.
