The opportunity

We are seeking a Data Science & Engineering Lead to guide our talented team of engineers. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our personalization models and data infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to understand their needs, ensuring our data strategies are scalable, efficient, and secure. This is a high-impact position where your leadership will directly influence the user experience for millions of Australians while maintaining the highest standards of data governance.

A day in the life

• Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated machine learning models that power the personalized experiences our members love.
• Oversee the architecture and maintenance of our data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring they remain robust and ready for future growth.
• Mentor your team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation while managing project timelines and resources to deliver high-quality results.

Who you are

You are a seasoned leader with a proven track record in data engineering and science. You possess a strategic mindset and the technical depth to navigate complex data environments. Your background includes:

• Extensive experience in a senior data leadership role, specifically managing engineering teams.
• Deep technical expertise in AWS Redshift, CDP technologies, and modern data infrastructure management.
• A strong grasp of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in data analytics and machine learning, with a focus on applying these tools to drive business objectives.
• Familiarity with Marketing Technology platforms and a collaborative approach to solving cross-functional challenges.
• Fluency in English and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment based in Australia.
