We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity. At ComplyAdvantage, we serve as the financial industry’s premier provider of AI-driven risk data and detection technology, working to stop money laundering and financial crime on a global scale. With over 1,000 clients relying on our real-time database, we are a fast-growing company backed by major investors like Goldman Sachs and Index Ventures. You will be based in Portugal and will work in a hybrid environment, helping us manage and scale the complex data systems that power our mission.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and optimize our data infrastructure across AWS and GCP, ensuring high performance and reliability for our SQL, NoSQL, Kafka, and Spark environments.
- Develop and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery strategies while implementing cost-management practices to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical guidance on data architecture, support application requirements, and plan for future infrastructure scalability.
Requirements
- Significant professional experience working with core AWS or GCP services, Kubernetes, and distributed data systems such as Kafka, Spark, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra.
- Proven ability to codify infrastructure using Terraform or Helm charts, along with a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and security best practices.
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent level of practical experience in these technologies.
- Deep knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and sharding strategies for managing large-scale databases.
- Proficiency in English, as you will be working within our global team.
