At Policy Expert, we are on a mission to reshape the insurance landscape through the power of smart data and proprietary technology. Since our founding in 2011, we have grown rapidly to serve over 1.5 million customers across home, motor, and pet insurance, earning a reputation as the UK’s top-rated home insurer. We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our DataOps team, where you will help us build a reliable, high-performing platform that empowers our product teams to deliver trusted data products with speed and confidence.
What you'll be doing
- You will define and implement best practices for infrastructure and software delivery within our GCP environments.
- You will evolve our CI/CD tooling using GitHub Actions to ensure our deployments remain fast and reliable.
- You will build reusable Infrastructure-as-Code templates and pipelines that serve as the foundation for our product and data teams.
What you'll bring
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys treating infrastructure as software. You should have experience with the following:
- Hands-on experience with GCP, particularly regarding data platforms or infrastructure components like BigQuery and IAM.
- Proficiency in Python, with a focus on writing clean, test-driven, and object-oriented scripts for automation.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks.
- A solid understanding of CI/CD tooling and modern observability practices, such as logging and tracing.
- The ability to manage cloud costs effectively and influence technical initiatives across the team.
- While not required, experience with AWS infrastructure is considered a valuable bonus.
Please note that we value your potential and encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every single requirement listed above.
What you'll get
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the United Kingdom. We are committed to supporting your professional and personal well-being through the following benefits:
- Access to a 401k retirement plan.
- Comprehensive medical and dental insurance coverage.
- An annual learning budget to support your professional development.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave policies.
- Commuter benefits to assist with your travel.
- Participation in company retreats and access to an employee assistance program.
- A variety of wellness programs to keep you feeling your best.
