We are currently seeking a Data Governance Lead to join our team in the United Kingdom on a full-time, on-site basis. Reporting directly to the Head of Data Governance and our Data Protection Officer, you will play a critical role in driving our group strategy and ensuring our data practices remain robust and future-ready.
Key outcomes
- Direct the implementation of our group data governance strategy and frameworks across newly acquired entities.
- Lead comprehensive information audits to assess our current standing.
- Analyze existing policies and procedures against our maturity model to identify and bridge gaps.
- Collaborate with business units to create and monitor improvement plans.
- Enhance data quality by identifying key areas for improvement and executing within our Data Quality Framework.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for GDPR-related inquiries and guidance.
- Provide expert advice and support to internal Data Owners and Data Stewards.
- Manage communications regarding our data framework and oversee associated project plans.
- Oversee ongoing data governance activities.
- Partner with internal audit teams, second-line defense, and external vendors to ensure control efficacy and timely completion of action plans.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data governance, data protection, and records management.
- A relevant professional qualification.
- Strong knowledge of data protection disciplines, including data strategy, retention policies, record keeping, and information security.
- A track record of delivering effective data quality management solutions that provide measurable benefits.
- The ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience leading or playing a major role in delivering data management solutions or driving significant cultural change.
- A deep understanding of data lifecycles within internal technology environments.
- Proficiency in writing and enforcing organizational policies and standards.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams through periods of change and managing project roadmaps.
- Fluency in English.
