Are you looking for a fresh way to apply your legal expertise outside of traditional practice? Trellis is a Series B venture-backed startup that is changing the way the legal industry interacts with data. We are the leaders in making US state trial courts searchable, providing deep insights into judicial behavior, law firms, and case outcomes. Since our launch in 2018, we have grown rapidly to serve many of the nation's largest corporate legal departments and law firms. We are now looking for a Senior Data Extraction Analyst to join our team on a contract basis and help us refine the AI that powers our platform.
What you'll be doing
- You will review and analyze complex civil court documents to accurately classify case outcomes.
- You will identify and label critical case information, such as specific verdict types and the monetary awards involved in the litigation.
- You will utilize our custom, web-based software to maintain high data standards and provide actionable feedback to our product team to improve the user experience.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess a JD from an accredited law school or have at least three years of relevant legal experience. We are looking for someone who has a sharp eye for detail and the ability to maintain high-quality output while working under deadlines. You should be comfortable reviewing civil court filings, and any previous experience specifically with state court filings will be considered a significant plus. Because our team collaborates globally, you must be fluent in English.
What you'll get
This is a fully remote position offering a pay range of 52,000 USD to 62,400 USD per year, based on a schedule of 20 to 40 hours per week. As a member of our team, you will enjoy the following benefits:
- The flexibility of remote work.
- The opportunity to transition from a 3 to 6 month contract into a permanent role.
- The chance to work at the forefront of the AI and legal technology transformation.
