Data Engineering Team Lead at unybrands

Since our founding in 2020, unybrands has been on a mission to build the premier next-generation e-commerce platform for micro-brands. We operate on a global scale with a presence in Miami, Berlin, London, New York, Seattle, and Shanghai. Our team acquires e-commerce brands, integrates them into our specialized platform, optimizes their operations, and drives growth across new product lines and geographies. We are currently looking for a Data Engineering Team Lead to join us in a full-time, hybrid capacity. In this role, you will guide our data engineering efforts, ensuring our data remains a strategic asset that supports every department from finance to supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and management to our team of Data Engineers while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with software, analytics, and infrastructure engineers to design and implement a modular, flexible data infrastructure.
• Take a hands-on approach to developing data products and building robust data models that serve as the foundation for our business intelligence and decision-making processes.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of treating data as a strategic resource.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a management or team lead capacity.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform, specifically with BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and SQL databases.
• Strong proficiency in Python for building automation and ETL pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and infrastructure automation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, Agile environment.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
