At Garner, our mission is to revolutionize the healthcare economy by ensuring that high-quality and affordable care is accessible to everyone. We partner with employers to restructure their healthcare benefits, using data-driven insights to guide employees toward providers who deliver superior outcomes. By rewarding doctors for practicing quality medicine rather than simply performing more procedures, we are creating a healthier future. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and are currently expanding our team to meet our rapid growth.
The role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will guide the development of our core data infrastructure. We are looking for a leader who is as comfortable mentoring junior engineers and working alongside data scientists as they are diving into technical projects themselves.
Core responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the robust data pipelines that power our provider ranking systems.
- Lead and grow our engineering team through active recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes.
- Mentor team members while overseeing task planning, project estimation, and the technical accuracy of our deliverables.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a passion for leadership. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience building complex data pipelines.
- Proven leadership experience as a Data Engineering Manager or in a similar team lead capacity.
- Expertise in Python and SQL, along with experience using AWS, Snowflake, and Argo.
- A track record of supervising technical experts and managing software development lifecycles.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate effectively across various departments.
- Familiarity with the healthcare or insurance industries is a significant plus.
Compensation and benefits
The target salary range for this position is $200,000 - $230,000. In addition to your base salary, this role is eligible for a bonus and participation in our equity incentive plan. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
- Remote work flexibility.
- Equity compensation.
- Medical insurance.
