About the Role
We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will lead and mentor our engineering staff while overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure. You will ensure our systems remain scalable and efficient, working closely with product managers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and career mentorship to our data engineering team, including conducting performance reviews and offering constructive guidance.
- Oversee the design and maintenance of our data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes while ensuring high standards for data security, integrity, and quality.
- Maintain a hands-on approach by contributing to architecture design, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and performing code reviews to support the team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience in data engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in a management position.
- Proven experience working within a venture-backed startup environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in Python and SQL, along with experience using tools like Airflow and Kafka.
- Solid experience working with AWS infrastructure and modern data warehousing technologies.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a genuine passion for driving innovation through data.
Location
This is a hybrid role based in the United States. We prefer that applicants reside in or near the Washington, D.C. or New York City areas, where you will be expected to work from the office 3 days per week.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $168,000 to $214,000, depending on your specific experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, you will be eligible for a stock option grant. Our benefits package includes:
