The opportunity

We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to join our team in Israel. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will oversee our transition to a modernized big data Lakehouse platform built on Databricks and GCP. You will be at the heart of our data strategy, managing a talented group of engineers while ensuring our infrastructure remains performant, secure, and cost-effective. By leading this team, you will empower our developers, data scientists, and product managers to make informed decisions that improve ad-impression quality for our clients worldwide.

A day in the life

• You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of experienced data engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages technical excellence and professional development.
• You will architect and oversee the modernization of our data platform, tackling challenges related to massive-scale stream ingestion, data governance, and security across petabytes of information.
• You will partner with product management to define our data strategy, conducting proof-of-concepts with cutting-edge technologies to optimize our daily processing of terabytes of data.

Who you are

You are a seasoned leader who thrives in high-scale environments and possesses a deep passion for big data technologies. You lead by example and are always looking for ways to remove bottlenecks and improve development velocity.

• You have at least 4 years of experience in both technical and people management, specifically leading platform, infrastructure, or data engineering teams.
• You bring at least 4 years of hands-on coding experience with Python, Scala, or Java.
• You possess deep, practical experience with streaming or batching technologies like Kafka and stream processing frameworks such as Spark.
• You are comfortable working within a public cloud ecosystem like GCP and have a strong grasp of SQL, NoSQL, and modern data architectures.
• You are a proactive communicator who is fluent in English and excels at building strong relationships across cross-functional teams.
