The role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a leadership position where you will guide our data engineering efforts while remaining hands-on with our cloud-native platform. You will play a pivotal role in processing massive volumes of data to support both automated systems and human decision-making across our organization.
Core responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of data and analytics engineers by clearing technical blockers, coaching them on execution, and supporting their long-term career growth.
- Architect and maintain a robust data platform that allows teams across the company to ingest, enrich, and anonymize data effectively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytical datasets.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in data or analytics engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role managing at least two direct reports.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, along with hands-on experience using business intelligence platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
- Proven ability to design and build testable data pipelines and operate data applications within AWS cloud environments.
- A strong grasp of software engineering best practices, specifically regarding version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
