Key outcomes
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to establish and maintain database management best practices.
- Manage, optimize, and scale document and graph databases to ensure high availability and peak performance.
- Support production environments by debugging issues and ensuring minimal downtime through robust disaster recovery and replication strategies.
- Implement automated solutions for database backups, migrations, scaling, and performance tuning.
- Maintain monitoring and alerting systems for all data storage backends to ensure 24/7 reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address technical incidents and maintain system stability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in database engineering or datastore reliability engineering.
- Hands-on expertise in managing and optimizing both relational databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB or Redis.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate cloud resource provisioning.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Go to streamline operational tasks.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with AWS-native database services like RDS, Aurora, or Redshift.
- Knowledge of graph databases such as Neo4j, ArangoDB, or Amazon Neptune.
- Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data analytics interfaces.
- Experience configuring multi-region database setups to support low-latency access.
Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges from 74,000 to 104,000 USD. In addition to base pay, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
