We are looking for a passionate Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team and help us build the robust infrastructure that powers open knowledge for everyone.
Role at a glance
This is a full-time, senior-level position focused on evolving our data capabilities. You will be working in a remote capacity, collaborating with a geographically distributed team to maintain and scale the systems that support our mission. Whether you are based in the United States or one of our many international hiring locations, you will play a critical role in our engineering efforts.
Your impact
- Design and build scalable, robust data pipelines using industry-standard tools like Airflow, Spark, and Kafka.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high data quality and proactively address potential issues.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying and executing improvements that boost system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
What you'll need
We are looking for someone who brings deep technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to our team. You should have:
- At least 3 years of data engineering experience, including work with on-premise systems.
- Proficiency in Python or Java/Scala, along with strong SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow, Kafka, Spark, and Hive.
- A solid understanding of CI/CD processes and containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
- Experience with stream processing frameworks such as Flink.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to document technical designs and explain complex ideas to various stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
Perks and compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of US$115,000 to US$144,000 for applicants based in the United States, with adjustments made for international locations based on the country of hire. Our benefits include:
