The role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in the United States. You will play a critical role in developing the next generation of our data pipelines, ensuring that we have the visibility required to launch our autonomous mobility service. You will be part of a diverse and experienced team that manages one of the most unique data sets in the autonomous vehicle industry.
Core responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure required to transform large-scale autonomous vehicle data to support analytics across the entire company.
- Define and execute strategies for how data from our perception, prediction, and planning stacks is consumed to provide actionable insights for engineers, data scientists, and business users.
- Establish robust data integrity monitoring to ensure that all company-wide metrics are grounded in accurate and reliable information.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical foundation and a passion for data infrastructure. We require the following qualifications:
- A BS or MS degree in a technical field.
- Proven experience in designing and building complex data infrastructure at scale.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience operating workflow managers like Airflow.
- Experience working with large-scale streaming platforms such as Kafka, processing frameworks like Spark or Hadoop, and storage engines like HDFS or HBase.
- Fluency in English.
Bonus points if you have:
- Exceptional programming skills in Python or Scala.
- Basic fluency in C++.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and a strong DataOps mindset.
