Our team is driven by a shared mission to create better ways of doing things, and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us in this pursuit. This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates located anywhere.
Key outcomes
- Manage corporate claims data acquisition, file loading, and the development of robust data structures.
- Design, develop, and maintain our Enterprise Data Warehouse databases, including the creation of algorithms and flowcharts.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively and meet client expectations on schedule.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior team members regarding development methodologies, frameworks, and project workflows.
- Assist with schema design, SQL query tuning, and the deployment of SQL code.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks or data anomalies.
- Research and implement process improvements to drive innovation within the Data Architecture group.
- Create comprehensive documentation to ensure seamless project handovers and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, or a master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
- Extensive experience with the Microsoft SQL stack, including SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Azure databases and cloud migration projects.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience utilizing Databricks and Azure Data Factory pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python and a strong command of SQL.
- Solid understanding of data lake and Lakehouse architecture principles, data modeling, and warehousing concepts.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead requirement-gathering workshops and feedback sessions.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English.
