The role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in our Paris office, though we offer the flexibility to work remotely within France. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and scaling the data infrastructure that supports our scientific processing and quality assurance efforts.
Core responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize robust ETL and ELT pipelines using Airflow to support our data processing workflows.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and biomedical researchers to define requirements and build scalable data solutions.
- Manage and monitor containerized data infrastructures utilizing Docker and Kubernetes while adhering to strict data governance and security standards.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a commitment to high-quality data engineering practices. We require the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and workflow development.
- Experience with Airflow for orchestrating complex data pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of cloud-native processing concepts and cloud-based data storage.
- Knowledge of data governance, security fundamentals, and the ability to work with both structured and unstructured datasets.
- Strong communication skills in English.
