About the role
As the Data Engineer, you will own the design, development, and optimization of Lovepop's data infrastructure, ensuring we can consistently and reliably deliver data-driven insights that elevate our customer experience. Your mission is to build scalable and robust data pipelines, influence decision-making across the organization, and enable teams to harness the full potential of our data.
This role is a great fit for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves solving complex technical challenges, and has experience building and managing data systems in a fast-paced, small-to-medium-sized company. You will collaborate across teams—including marketing, customer service, operations, and tech—to ensure our data infrastructure supports our business needs. Strong analytical abilities, technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role.

Accountabilities

    • Own the design and development of Lovepop's data infrastructure
  • Build and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable ETL pipelines to process and transform large volumes of data from various sources.
  • Leverage modern data technologies to design and implement robust data architectures that enable advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Optimize and automate data workflows to ensure timely and accurate data delivery to stakeholders.
    • Enable data-driven decision-making across the organization
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
  • Design and implement systems to track, monitor, and analyze data quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with teams to define and enforce data governance best practices, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.
    • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and teams
  • Work closely with business, product, and engineering teams to align data solutions with company objectives.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for data engineering, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Actively contribute to fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.


    • Qualifications

    • 5+ Years of Data Engineering Experience
  • Proven experience in designing and building data pipelines, data warehouses, and real-time data streaming systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Airflow, or similar.
    • 2+ Years in a DTC or Ecommerce Environment
  • Experience working with data systems in direct-to-consumer (DTC) or ecommerce businesses, with a focus on improving customer experience through data.
  • Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Heap, Shopify, or similar ecommerce technologies.
    • Experience in Fast-Paced, Ambiguous Environments
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, adapting to new challenges, and delivering high-impact solutions in a dynamic setting.
    • Strong Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and resolving data bottlenecks, optimizing systems, and improving overall performance.
