We combine purpose-built technology with deep expertise to help our clients focus on building value. We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will help design and implement an internal data platform that provides our software and analytics teams with governed, secure, and reliable access to data. This is a remote position based within the Continental United States, though you will be expected to travel to our Denver headquarters approximately three times per year.
Key outcomes
- Design and build scalable data platform capabilities, incorporating automation to ensure secure and agile delivery.
- Partner with architects and engineering teams to establish best practices for data security, resiliency, and system availability.
- Develop tools and processes that allow product and BI teams to consume data while adhering to strict governance and operational standards.
- Maintain code and configuration for existing and future services while recommending architectural improvements.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding data platform adoption.
- Ensure all platform solutions remain compliant with regulatory and security requirements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies to drive continuous innovation and simplification of our data infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 4 years of experience with SQL and a solid understanding of data modeling.
- 4+ years of experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including stored procedures and functions.
- Practical knowledge of AWS data infrastructure, including S3, Glue, Athena, and Kafka.
- Proficiency in software development using languages such as Python or Java.
- Experience with modern API design, event-driven architectures, and data security practices.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with cloud design patterns, including microservices, containers, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Terraform scripting for infrastructure automation.
- Familiarity with data integration from platforms like Salesforce, NetSuite, or Workday.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI, or SEC requirements.
- Experience with reporting tools like Grafana, Kibana, or Elasticsearch.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $140,000, depending on your experience level. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
