Numeus is a diversified digital asset investment firm that operates at the intersection of finance, blockchain, and technology. We combine institutional standards with a collaborative approach to alpha strategies, trading, and asset management. We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in the United Kingdom for this full-time, on-site role.
Responsibilities
- Partner with quantitative researchers to identify and fulfill their specific data needs.
- Build and maintain high-throughput, near real-time event driven datasets using both live and historical market information.
- Manage integrations with external APIs and alternative data providers to ingest a variety of structured and unstructured data.
- Create data solutions that allow for the reliable and efficient extraction of insights.
- Design and optimize robust data pipelines and ETL processes that support our research, alpha forecasting, and execution workflows.
- Apply strict data quality assurance standards to guarantee the consistency and accuracy of all data inputs.
Must-haves
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a related role, ideally within a quantitative hedge fund.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Rust.
- Extensive experience with big data technologies, data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing.
- Expertise in SQL and modeling relational data, along with experience using tick data stores and various database types.
- Background in building event driven applications using tools like Kafka, Protobuf, and Schema Registry.
- Practical experience with AWS, Linux, and Docker.
- Experience working with REST and WebSocket APIs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate researcher requirements into technical solutions.
- A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for periodic travel to our offices in New York City and Zug, Switzerland.
- Fluency in English.
