What is this role?

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join us on a full-time, remote basis. The position calls for someone who already brings substantial production experience and is ready to shape the data backbone that powers our AI initiatives.

What will you do?

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes that combine licensed and scraped sources, using Hadoop MapReduce and Scala as core technologies.
• Automate data delivery, validation, and augmentation steps while integrating APIs that feed downstream analytics and machine-learning models.
• Partner with AI/ML engineers to identify new data sources, resolve dependencies, and ensure the infrastructure stays secure, compliant, and high-performing.

What makes you a great fit?

You bring at least seven years of hands-on experience shipping production-grade code and hold strong computer-science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networks, and databases. You have already built and operated data pipelines with Hadoop MapReduce, Spark, Airflow, and Scala, and you are comfortable setting up both relational SQL and NoSQL stores such as Postgres, Cassandra, or MongoDB. Experience with cloud data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS is essential, as is proven skill in turning large, heterogeneous, and unstructured datasets into actionable value. You treat Git as second nature and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is welcome, and exposure to real-time or low-latency systems is a plus.
