We're building the data backbone for a new kind of electricity marketplace-one that gives homes and businesses the same pricing power once reserved for the largest corporations. At Arbor, our AI platform already helps over 100,000 customers save millions by connecting them to real-time wholesale rates. Now we're looking for a senior engineer who can turn that growing stream of market, customer, and usage data into the reliable foundation our product decisions depend on.
Role at a glance
Data Engineer, full-time and fully remote. We need someone with senior-level experience who can own and evolve our modern data stack from day one.
Your impact
- Own the full data pipeline: set up and maintain ingestion from our GCP production systems through Fivetran into Snowflake, then build and refine the dbt models that turn raw feeds into trusted analytics assets.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and leadership to deliver the dashboards and reports that guide pricing, supplier strategy, and customer-switching decisions.
- Shape how we apply AI across our data workflows-automating quality checks, speeding up development, and spotting anomalies in complex regulatory data.
What you'll need
3–6+ years building production data pipelines or analytics platforms, preferably at a high-growth startup or in a domain with complex, real-time data. You bring strong dbt skills, know how to design maintainable models with tests and documentation, and write clean SQL every day. Hands-on experience with Snowflake schema design and performance tuning is essential; comfort with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, or Pub/Sub is a plus. You have built stakeholder dashboards in Hex, Looker, or similar tools that people actually use. An AI-native mindset-actively using modern tools to accelerate your own work-is expected. Energy-domain experience is not required, but genuine curiosity about electricity markets will help you thrive here.
