The opportunity
We are searching for a talented Data Engineer to join our growing Data Team. As our business scales across new markets and product lines, our data ecosystem is becoming increasingly complex. In this role, you will help build and evolve high-quality, scalable data systems that support everything from real-time operational decisions to advanced analytics. You will work alongside product managers and engineers to treat data as a product, applying rigorous software engineering practices to everything we build, including innovative AI-powered internal tools.
A day in the life
- You will develop and maintain robust ETL and ELT pipelines using dbt, Kafka, and Change Data Capture mechanisms to ensure seamless data flow.
- You will design and optimize our Snowflake-based data warehouse, focusing on dimensional modeling and high-performance architecture.
- You will automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform while leveraging AWS services like S3, Lambda, and SageMaker to support our cloud-native environment.
Who you are
You are a problem-solver who brings 2 to 3 years of experience in data engineering or backend development. You possess advanced SQL skills and have a strong grasp of dimensional modeling. You are comfortable writing clean, maintainable Python code and have experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Apache Kafka. You understand the importance of Infrastructure as Code and software development best practices like version control and testing. To succeed in this role, you must have valid Australian working rights, a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, and be fluent in English.
Why you'll love it here
Joining our team means you will have a real impact on how data is leveraged across a rapidly growing organization. You will work with a passionate, collaborative group of professionals and have the chance to contribute to cutting-edge projects, such as our AI-powered Slack bot that provides natural language access to data. We are committed to your professional growth through mentorship and exposure to the latest technologies. We offer a competitive salary package that includes ESOP and convenient onsite parking.
