The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. You will take ownership of the critical infrastructure that fuels our pricing models and marketplace insights. By ingesting complex transaction and listing data from numerous external sources, you will ensure that our platform remains accurate and fast. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering and product, as your work will directly influence the business intelligence that guides our entire organization.

A day in the life

• You will design and maintain robust data pipelines that scrape, process, and ingest high-volume data from major auction houses and online marketplaces.
• You will build sophisticated monitoring and alerting systems to keep a close eye on latency, uptime, and data coverage across all of our sources.
• You will modernize our data infrastructure by optimizing storage and processing technologies to improve performance, reduce costs, and minimize manual maintenance.

Who you are

You are a pragmatic engineer who values clean, usable data and understands that the real impact happens after the extraction is complete. You enjoy the fast pace of a startup environment and take pride in owning systems from start to finish. You communicate fluently in English and bring the following expertise to our team:

• Three to four years of experience in data engineering, including at least three years of hands-on Python proficiency.
• Proven success in large-scale data processing using tools like Pandas, Polars, or PySpark.
• Strong experience with pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
• Solid SQL skills for complex data transformation and analysis.
• A history of owning at least one data pipeline end-to-end.
• Familiarity with cloud services, web scraping technologies, and automation tools is a significant plus.
