Key outcomes
- Design, build, and optimize robust data pipelines to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured information.
- Develop and maintain scalable data models using dimensional modeling techniques.
- Create impactful reports and dashboards that provide clear insights into business performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot data challenges and ensure the timely resolution of technical issues.
- Enhance query performance and establish best practices for database design.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their analytical requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
- Drive innovation through automation to improve our overall data quality and analytics processes.
- Take full ownership of projects from initial concept through to successful completion.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related field.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with database design and data modeling.
- Strong working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT development principles and modern data warehousing concepts.
- Hands-on experience with data transformation tools like DBT or Databricks.
- Proven ability to decompose complex business problems into manageable technical tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency with Git, Jira, and testing frameworks like Great Expectations.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
