Data Engineer at Agero

We are Agero, the leading B2B provider of digital driver assistance services, and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our remote team. You will help us redefine the vehicle ownership experience by building the data infrastructure that powers our analytics, machine learning, and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from diverse sources, including relational databases, NoSQL, and APIs.
• Build and optimize data workflows using modern orchestration tools.
• Develop robust data architectures, such as data lakes and warehouses, while ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Apply advanced data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling, to support complex analytics.
• Write efficient, reusable code in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Manage cloud costs and improve performance by optimizing queries in Snowflake and other cloud environments.
• Implement data quality frameworks and observability solutions to ensure data reliability and integrity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists and business stakeholders to turn requirements into innovative solutions.

Must-haves

• A Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of industry experience.
• Expertise in Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehousing platforms.
• Proven ability to build and maintain data pipelines using frameworks like Airflow or DBT.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong experience designing and deploying data solutions within AWS.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.
• Experience with data quality tools and version control systems like Git.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of modern data frameworks like Delta Lake, Iceberg, or Hudi.

The annual salary range for this position is $97,000 to $140,000 USD.
