The opportunity
As a Data Engineer on the OpenData team you will own the end-to-end data processing workflows that keep our US reference data accurate and timely. Your work directly supports sales execution, compliance, and analytics for customers who count on fresh, trustworthy information. Because we practice true end-to-end ownership, you decide how to investigate issues, design solutions, and deliver improvements using modern cloud technologies.
A day in the life
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and supporting tools that move and transform healthcare reference data on cloud-managed Spark platforms.
- Write production-grade Python and SQL code to create complex data relationships, analytical structures, and automated data-quality checks that keep our datasets reliable.
- Partner with product managers to understand shifting market needs, then adapt pipelines and reports so the data stays relevant for customers.
Who you are
You bring at least three years of hands-on experience developing data pipelines on cloud-managed Spark clusters such as AWS EMR or Databricks. You are fluent in Python and PySpark, comfortable writing both SQL and SparkSQL, and have built tools that automate and streamline data workflows. You have worked with Data Lakehouse architectures, collaborated in Agile teams, and enjoy mentoring colleagues to raise the bar for everyone. Because this role is fully remote within the United States, applicants must have unrestricted work authorization; at this time Veeva is unable to provide sponsorship.
