We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join our Better Data team in Australia, where you will help us scale our analytics capabilities and drive real-time insights for HR leaders globally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and construction of robust data pipelines that power our analytics products.
  • Ensure all pipelines are performant, observable, and thoroughly tested.
  • Monitor end-user performance while optimizing database schemas and queries.
  • Champion data best practices across the team and mentor colleagues to help them grow their technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage data in alignment with our security, privacy, and compliance standards.

Must-haves

  • Strong experience working with cloud data warehouses like Redshift.
  • Expertise in modeling and querying data using SQL and Python.
  • Proficiency with ETL and ELT tools, specifically DBT and Airflow.
  • Advanced communication skills in English.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic mindset with a focus on solving customer problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices, preferably within the AWS ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with AWS data services, including Athena, Glue, SageMaker, and EMR.
