Data Engineer at Govini

The role

We are searching for a mid-level Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position based out of our office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and it may require up to 10% travel. You will serve as a vital member of our product and engineering group, working hands-on to uncover truth and meaning within our data while collaborating with internal teams and subject matter experts.

Core responsibilities

• Lead our data lifecycle strategy, covering everything from initial acquisition and ingestion to cleansing, normalization, and linkage.
• Identify, resolve, and link key entities within our datasets to ensure they align with our master data repository.
• Collaborate across functional teams to integrate advanced machine learning and statistical models into our existing engineering infrastructure.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should be a curious problem solver who is comfortable working independently. Please note that U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

• A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in programmatically transforming data.
• Advanced SQL programming skills and experience working with RDBMS.
• Proficiency in handling common data formats, specifically XML, JSON, and CSV.
• Strong analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Bonus points for experience with Amazon Web Services, working with multi-terabyte datasets, or holding a U.S. security clearance.
