Following a successful Series B funding round in 2022, we are scaling our operations across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. We are looking for a Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our team in Australia to help us build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers our human-centered, technology-driven mission.
Key outcomes
- Design, build, and maintain robust data infrastructure and pipelines using AWS and Snowflake.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable, and automated data operations.
- Execute ELT processes and optimize data workflows for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Enforce data governance, quality, and security standards across our data warehouse.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance to data analysts to improve their proficiency in SQL and dbt.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data insights into actionable business decisions.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Design Computing, or a related field.
- Strong technical proficiency in AWS services, including CDK, S3, DMS, and Kinesis.
- Advanced skills in SQL and experience with dbt.
- Hands-on experience with ELT tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
- A solid understanding of cloud-based data warehousing and data classification principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Practical experience working with Python.
- Familiarity with version control workflows using GitHub.
