What you bring
We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in Washington, DC. In this role, you will be a vital part of our data platform team, ensuring our customers receive accurate and timely information. Your work will involve using Python, Java, and various cloud technologies to maintain our extensive integration network. You will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, spending at least three days per week in our office.
- Build, maintain, and scale data integrations that extract, transform, and load information from diverse retailer sources into our standardized platform.
- Collaborate with product and client solutions teams to develop new features that enhance our platform capabilities as we continue to scale.
- Monitor our data pipelines to detect and resolve issues, ensuring our customers have reliable access to their business data.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in Data Engineering concepts, including ETL, data modeling, and data warehousing. We require a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field like computer science, mathematics, or statistics, along with one to two years of relevant experience. You should be fluent in Python, comfortable writing complex database queries for Postgres, and possess a genuine interest in learning about global supply chain logistics. Ideal candidates are clear communicators who can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, thrive in collaborative environments, and remain adaptable when prioritizing tasks during data outages. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure is considered a significant advantage.
