What is this role?
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our expanding team of analytics experts located across the UK, UAE, and Asia. This is a full-time, hybrid position designed for a mid-level professional. You will play a vital role in building and optimizing our data systems and pipeline architecture, ensuring that our data flow and collection processes are efficient for our cross-functional teams.
What will you do?
- Design, build, and maintain a centralized data system that includes a robust data pipeline architecture, data warehouses, data lakes, and data hubs.
- Assemble complex, large-scale datasets that satisfy both functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Develop the necessary infrastructure for the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources using SQL, event-based systems, and AWS big data technologies.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering and a degree in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Systems. We are looking for someone who brings the following skills and qualities:
- Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with big data systems, ETL processes, and pipeline architecture.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and AWS cloud services.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases like Elasticsearch and event-streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively within a dynamic, cross-functional team.
- Fluency in English.
