Data Engineer at Kambi

The role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform stream on a full-time basis. Based in Sweden, this role is designed for an experienced professional who is eager to help us scale our data infrastructure. You will work in a hybrid capacity, spending two days a week at our Stockholm office to foster collaboration while enjoying the flexibility of remote work for the remainder of the week.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality data models using dbt to support our analytical needs.
• Manage the full lifecycle of domain-oriented data products as we transition toward a modern Lakehouse architecture built on AWS, Trino, and Iceberg.
• Partner directly with business stakeholders and analytics engineers to translate complex requirements into robust, reusable data transformations.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong background in data engineering or analytics engineering. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL for complex analytical queries and performance optimization, paired with a solid working knowledge of Python.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines within cloud environments, specifically AWS.
• Experience in designing data solutions that serve reporting and business intelligence requirements.
• Bonus points if you have worked with orchestration tools like Airflow or containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
• A collaborative mindset with a curiosity for learning new tools and solving complex technical challenges.
