The role
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in India. This is a mid-level position intended for professionals with 3 to 6 years of experience. You will play a critical role in our engineering department, focusing on the development and maintenance of high-performance data systems that support our expanding infrastructure.
Core responsibilities
- Design, construct, and refine scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark to ensure seamless data flow.
- Manage and optimize large-scale data lakehouse environments, utilizing technologies like Apache Iceberg to improve storage efficiency and query performance.
- Develop complex SQL queries and transformation logic to support analytical reporting and ensure high data quality across our platforms.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a passion for solving complex data challenges. We require the following qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in data engineering, specifically using Java, Apache Spark, and SQL.
- Practical experience working with AWS data services and modern data lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and the implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bonus points if you have experience with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes, workflow orchestration with Airflow, or hold relevant AWS certifications.
