The role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position, and we are open to candidates located anywhere. You will play a critical role in designing and maintaining the robust infrastructure required to store and process massive datasets, ensuring that our data remains reliable, scalable, and accessible for our data scientists, analysts, and product teams.

Core responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of information from diverse sources.
• Build and maintain high-performance data storage systems, including distributed databases and data warehouses, while developing algorithms to clean and transform data for actionable reporting.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven model development and troubleshoot infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in computer science and a deep technical background. We require the following qualifications:

• Five to eight years of professional experience with in-depth knowledge of SQL, Scala, Spark, AWS EMR, AWS Athena, AWS S3, AWS Glue, and PHP.
• Proficiency in NoSQL and RDBMS databases, along with a solid understanding of Data Lake, Data warehouse, and ETL concepts.
• Familiarity with Airflow and Docker, as well as scripting languages like Python, Java, C++, and Linux.
• The ability to solve complex challenges related to data consistency, scalability, and performance.
• A self-driven mindset with the flexibility to explore and implement new technologies.
