We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a contractor basis. This is a fully remote position available to candidates located anywhere. In this role, you will take ownership of complex technical challenges, moving beyond simple ticket execution to design, build, and deploy solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for evolving production-grade LLM agents from providing insights to taking supervised actions, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and capable of orchestrating sophisticated workflows. While we expect you to leverage AI-assisted engineering tools like Claude Code or Cursor, you remain fully accountable for the code you ship and the technical decisions you defend.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of LLM agents, from initial requirements to production deployment, while directly managing client expectations and architectural trade-offs.
- Design and harden agent orchestration systems, including planning, tool-calling, state management, and synthesis.
- Implement comprehensive evaluation harnesses and observability using OpenTelemetry to monitor token usage, latency, and system costs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years at a senior level, including strong proficiency in Python and the ability to work with TypeScript or Go.
- Proven experience in building and operating production-level LLM applications, including prompt design, context management, and structured output.
- Deep knowledge of agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain.
- Hands-on experience with managed LLM platforms like AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Azure AI Foundry.
- Strong background in AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the confidence to explain and defend technical designs directly to clients.
