At GumGum, we are redefining the digital advertising landscape by focusing on context rather than personal data. Our global platform uses sophisticated AI to serve engaging, creative ads that capture consumer attention while respecting privacy. We believe that the future of the internet should be equitable and non-invasive, which is why we developed The Mindset Matrix. This approach allows us to deliver superior results for advertisers and publishers alike, all without needing to know who a user is. We are a team that values innovation, diversity, and the power of technology to make the web a better place for everyone.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Data Engineer I to join our technology division. In this role, you will play a vital part in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our business. You will work closely with our Data Engineering Manager and a talented team of engineers to support near real-time data analytics. This is a fantastic chance to grow your technical skills while contributing to systems that handle massive amounts of data, ensuring our operations remain efficient and scalable.
A day in the life
- You will design and implement robust ETL pipelines using tools like Snowflake, Airflow, Looker, Kafka, and Spark.
- You will collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into effective data solutions, including the creation and enhancement of reports.
- You will participate in technical discussions and code reviews, ensuring we follow best practices while testing emerging technologies through proofs of concept.
Who you are
You are a motivated professional with at least two years of total experience, including a minimum of one year in software engineering using Java, Scala, or Python. You have a solid grasp of SQL databases and experience working with large-scale distributed systems in AWS. You are comfortable with dataframes and understand how to orchestrate data processing systems. Beyond your technical abilities, you are a strong communicator who enjoys explaining complex concepts and working collaboratively. You hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and you are eager to learn and grow within a flexible, hybrid work environment.
Why you'll love it here
We offer a competitive annual base salary range of $119,000 to $137,000. Beyond your compensation, we provide a comprehensive rewards package that includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan. We are committed to a hybrid work model that balances the convenience of working from home with the energy of in-person collaboration at our office. We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and encourages every team member to bring their authentic self to work every day.
