Data Engineer, Financial Reference Data at Teza Technologies

Teza Technologies is currently seeking a dedicated Data Engineer to join our core services technology team in Yerevan. We operate at the intersection of finance and technology, where data serves as the lifeblood of our systematic trading operations. As we prepare for a period of rapid expansion, we are looking for a motivated individual to join our small, agile team. This role offers a unique opportunity to architect robust data platforms while working in a hybrid environment that balances collaborative in-office time with the flexibility of remote work.

Key outcomes

• Manage the timely integration of both structured and alternative data vendors into our systems.
• Collaborate directly with quantitative researchers to identify their needs and translate those into technical requirements.
• Develop deep expertise in vendor data by investigating its unique characteristics and identifying potential irregularities.
• Design and deploy efficient, reusable ETL components while maintaining high standards through rigorous testing.
• Develop flexible APIs through iterative feedback to ensure our end-users have the tools they need.
• Continuously improve our existing data infrastructure, optimize data IO, and automate storage management processes.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
• At least one year of professional experience in designing, deploying, and optimizing analytics and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming and SQL.
• A naturally detail-oriented mindset with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
• Professional fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience working with financial products or reference data.
• Technical proficiency in Java.
• Hands-on experience with cloud and big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, and Spark.
