The role

We are seeking a Lead Data Architect to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position where you will take ownership of the architecture for our new product development initiatives across mobile, web, and data science platforms. You will serve as a technical leader, ensuring our data solutions are scalable, reliable, and performant as we expand our footprint in the industrial manufacturing space.

Core responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of data solutions for new products, ensuring a robust infrastructure that supports both real-time and batch processing.
• Manage and optimize our data storage strategy, utilizing Amazon Aurora MySQL for relational databases, Amazon Timestream for time series data, and Amazon S3 for unstructured storage.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to translate complex business requirements into high-quality data models and secure, efficient pipelines.

Skills and experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in data architecture or engineering, specifically within new product development environments.
• Deep technical proficiency with Amazon Web Services, including Amazon Aurora, S3, and Timestream.
• Strong expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling, ETL/ELT workflows, and data governance policies.
• Advanced skills in SQL and Python, along with a solid understanding of machine learning workflows and API integrations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and cross-functional remote environment.
