At Lumin Digital, we operate as a true engineering organization dedicated to protecting a cloud-hosted digital banking platform that serves financial institutions and their members. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a vital role in building self-healing infrastructure and enforcing automated controls across hundreds of environments. We are looking for a senior-level engineer who is fluent in AI-assisted development tools and eager to share that expertise with our team. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our cryptographic material and the architecture of our security telemetry, ensuring our systems remain secure and resilient.
Key outcomes
- Engineer robust security infrastructure across AWS and Kubernetes, focusing on telemetry pipelines and compliance automation.
- Develop and maintain agentic AI workflows using tools like Claude Code and custom agent harnesses to automate vulnerability detection and security control drift monitoring.
- Manage the lifecycle of cryptographic material as code, ensuring key generation, storage, and rotation are fully automated and version-controlled.
- Construct security telemetry pipelines that provide the high-fidelity data necessary for our auto-remediation systems.
- Integrate security controls directly into deployment pipelines to prevent vulnerabilities at the build stage through policy-as-code.
- Create automated systems for compliance evidence collection that produce auditor-ready outputs from continuous data flows.
- Develop threat models that guide security architecture and promote reusable patterns across the broader engineering team.
- Provide technical support to Security Operations during incident response by building the necessary tooling and automation.
- Evaluate emerging AI-assisted engineering patterns through proof-of-concept work to establish team standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or an equivalent combination of professional experience and certifications.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in security or software engineering, with a focus on building systems rather than manual operations.
- Minimum of 1 year of production experience utilizing at least two agentic coding tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Gemini.
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing production-quality code in Python and managing infrastructure with Terraform.
- Deep familiarity with cloud-native environments, specifically AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Strong understanding of PKI, threat modeling, and secure design principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fully remote, async-first culture.
- Experience with security telemetry platforms like OpenSearch.
Preferred qualifications
- Industry certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CKS, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
- Active contributions to the security and AI community, including open-source projects, public writing, or technical talks.
Compensation
We provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth. This includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with a 401k plan. You will also have access to paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and the flexibility of a fully remote work environment.
How to apply
If you are a self-directed engineer who is passionate about automating security and leveraging AI to solve complex problems, we invite you to apply. Please submit your application to join our team as we continue to innovate in the digital banking space.
