Cyber Infrastructure Engineer at Raft Company

Raft is a customer-obsessed small business based in McLean, Virginia, that specializes in building distributed data systems and scalable platforms for federal agencies. We are looking for a Senior Cyber Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and help us develop digital solutions that impact millions of lives.

Please note that this position requires U.S. citizenship, as all of our supported programs mandate it. All work must be performed within the continental United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation, installation, and maintenance of agency-wide WAN and LAN networks.
• Design and oversee WAN infrastructure and related operational processes.
• Provide production support for client networks, including daily operations, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Perform second-level problem diagnosis and resolution.
• Coordinate with hardware and circuit vendors to ensure timely service restoration.
• Communicate status updates clearly to internal customers and agency management.

Must-haves

• At least three years of relevant, hands-on engineering experience.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency in AWS Cloud Services, Gitlab, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Service Mesh technologies like Istio.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and version control.
• Working knowledge of tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Maven, Gradle, Java, Node.js, and Python.
• Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification within 90 days of hire.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for automation and security.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating custom Helm Charts.
• Foundational knowledge of Big Data concepts.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including GoLang.
