About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Cyber Incident Commander to join our Security Operations Center team on a full-time basis. Based at our headquarters in Newark, California, you will play a critical role in leading our incident response efforts. This position is essential for maintaining our security posture, as you will manage high-pressure situations, coordinate cross-departmental responses, and ensure our systems remain protected against evolving threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead incident response activities by following our established Incident Response Plan, which includes managing scoping, communication, reporting, and long-term remediation strategies.
- Direct the incident management team by delegating tasks, defining clear objectives, and fostering collaboration across departments to resolve security issues efficiently.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor for junior staff, providing escalation support for high-severity incidents and conducting sophisticated forensic or network analysis.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Five to seven years of experience in a leadership role within a Cyber Security Operations Center or an incident response team.
- Proven expertise in coordinating incident investigations, performing root cause analysis, and communicating risk to executive stakeholders such as the CISO and Legal Counsel.
- Extensive hands-on experience with security tools, including SIEM platforms, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data loss protection software.
- A deep understanding of the current cyber threat landscape, including knowledge of threat actors, exploit campaigns, and emerging trends.
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to maintain incident management programs and develop comprehensive runbooks.
Location
This position is an on-site role based in the United States at our Newark, California headquarters.
Compensation and Benefits
