At Renegade, we are creating a resilient, permissionless network designed for the anonymous exchange of value. Our flagship project, the Renegade dark pool, addresses critical inefficiencies in decentralized finance such as front-running, toxic flow, and fragmented liquidity. By leveraging advanced multi-party computation and zero-knowledge proofs, we ensure that trade details remain completely private throughout the entire lifecycle of an order. We are essentially building the crypto-native equivalent of traditional dark pools, which already handle a significant portion of global equity volume. As a seed-stage startup supported by prominent investors like Dragonfly Capital and Naval Ravikant, we are committed to fostering a high-intensity, collaborative environment in our downtown San Francisco office.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Cryptography Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be at the heart of our technical mission, focusing on the development and optimization of our core cryptographic infrastructure. You will work in-person with our team six days a week to push the boundaries of privacy-preserving finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine our ZKP and MPC proving stacks to ensure robust performance and security.
- Implement essential cryptographic primitives, such as SPDZ and Bulletproofs, while optimizing them for low-latency execution.
- Conduct internal audits to maintain consistent protocol state and ensure our architecture remains both expressive and flexible.
Requirements
We are seeking individuals with a strong foundation in security research, pure mathematics, or cryptography. You should be comfortable working with zero-knowledge proof libraries like Arkworks, Circom, and Dalek. Proficiency in StarkNet and the Cairo language is essential for this position. Furthermore, you should have experience writing latency-optimized code and a deep understanding of practical zero-knowledge proof implementations. If you have a background in multi-party computation, or if you have the ability to master these concepts rapidly, you will thrive in this environment.
Location
This position is based on-site in downtown San Francisco, United States.
Compensation and Benefits
We are backed by a group of industry-leading investors and offer the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment. We look forward to discussing the specifics of your role and how you can contribute to the future of anonymous value exchange.
