Cryptographer at BitGo

We currently manage approximately 20 percent of all global Bitcoin transactions and support over 600 coins and tokens. Our infrastructure serves more than 1,500 institutional clients across 50 countries, including top-tier cryptocurrency exchanges and regulated entities. Backed by industry leaders like Goldman Sachs, Craft Ventures, and Digital Currency Group, we are looking for a Senior Cryptographer to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity to help us continue transforming global financial markets.

Key outcomes

• Design, implement, and maintain robust cryptographic protocols and algorithms, with a specific focus on Threshold Signature Schemes (TSS) and Multi-Party Computation (MPC).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced cryptographic solutions into our existing product suite and new developments.
• Conduct thorough security audits and penetration testing to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with software engineers to ensure the precise implementation and integration of cryptographic systems.
• Stay at the cutting edge of cryptographic research to apply the latest technological advancements to our security infrastructure.
• Develop comprehensive documentation for all cryptographic protocols and assist in shaping our organizational security standards and policies.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Cryptography, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cryptography, specifically involving TSS and MPC.
• Deep expertise in cryptographic protocols and algorithms, including RSA, ECC, AES, and SHA.
• Proven experience designing and deploying cryptographic solutions for enterprise-level systems.
• Familiarity with industry security standards such as NIST, FIPS, and ISO 27001.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and the ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative team environments.

Preferred qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $240,000 USD, depending on your leveling and location. In addition to the base salary, this role includes an annual performance bonus and stock options. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
