We are looking for a Senior Cross-Platform Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis in the United States. At Jane Street we build and maintain software that supports nearly every person in the firm, running on Windows desktops, Windows servers, Linux systems, and across OCaml, F#, and .NET environments. Our cross-platform group bridges these technologies to deliver reliable tools that keep trading, infrastructure, and hybrid-work operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with traders to create Windows applications that improve their day-to-day productivity.
- Design and maintain software that enforces proper oversight of all trading activity.
- Develop monitoring and management tools that help IT teams track hardware, software, and the systems that support our hybrid work model.
Requirements
- Strong programming ability demonstrated through significant professional experience.
- Deep interest in technology spanning areas such as systems administration and programming-language design.
- Curiosity, a willingness to learn new domains, and the ability to acknowledge and correct mistakes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of effective collaboration within small, close-knit teams.
- Fluency in English.
We do not require prior experience with functional programming, F#, OCaml, Linux, Windows, or finance; we provide training for engineers who demonstrate strong fundamentals and a desire to learn.
