The opportunity

We are looking for a Credit Strategy Manager and Staff Data Scientist to focus on our student loan portfolio. In this role, you will be a key architect of our credit underwriting, pre-screen targeting, and risk tier assignment processes. You will help build the future of our lending ecosystem by optimizing how we use internal, bureau, third-party, and alternative data sources. This is a chance to apply your expertise in credit risk to mitigate losses while driving sustainable revenue growth in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

A day in the life

• Design and implement sophisticated credit underwriting strategies and risk assessment models to support our student loan products.
• Monitor the performance of existing portfolios and strategies, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement through rigorous data analysis.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders, document your strategic decisions, and drive actionable initiatives to enhance our lending ecosystem.

Who you are

You are a seasoned professional with a strong background in quantitative analysis and a passion for financial technology. You possess a Master’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, along with five years of relevant experience. Alternatively, you may hold a Bachelor’s degree in these fields with seven years of progressively responsible experience. You are fluent in English and have mastered the following tools and skills:

• SQL, SAS, and Python for data manipulation and modeling.
• SPM and advanced Financial Modeling.
• Tableau and PowerBI for data visualization.
• Deep expertise in Data Analytics and Product Development.
