At Finom, we are on a mission to reshape the financial world for entrepreneurs everywhere. Headquartered in Amsterdam, we are building an all-in-one B2B platform that combines banking, accounting, and invoicing into a single, mobile-first experience. With over $346 million in total funding, including a recent $115 million Series C round backed by General Catalyst, we are rapidly expanding our footprint across Europe. We believe in empowering our team to drive real change, fostering an environment where bold research and swift execution help us deliver exceptional value to our users.
The role
We are looking for a Senior Credit Risk Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a foundational, high-impact position where you will lead the development of our credit risk framework specifically for our SME credit card product. You will work closely with our Chief Risk Officer, as well as our Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams, to design the risk architecture from the ground up and define the future of SME lending across Europe.
Core responsibilities
- Own and develop the end-to-end credit risk framework for our credit card line, covering everything from underwriting and scoring models to risk appetite and portfolio monitoring.
- Architect our data strategy by integrating diverse sources like transactional data, government registries, and accounting software to guide our Machine Learning and Data Science teams in building robust credit models.
- Serve as a strong second line of defense, ensuring that all origination, monitoring, and collection processes remain compliant with EMI and PS4 regulatory requirements.
Skills and experience
- At least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in credit risk, with specific expertise in SME lending and credit cards.
- Proven ability to manage automated underwriting and risk models within a fintech or digital banking setting.
- A strong analytical mindset with the ability to balance risk control with product-led growth and unit economics.
- Excellent collaboration skills, allowing you to align diverse stakeholders across legal, finance, and technical departments.
- A quantitative degree in fields such as statistics, mathematics, data science, or econometrics is considered a significant advantage.
- An AI-native approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of European regulatory frameworks like Basel or DNB are highly valued.
Compensation and benefits
We offer a supportive, flexible work environment designed to help you thrive both personally and professionally. Our benefits include:
- The flexibility to work remotely from anywhere.
- Participation in our company-wide Stock Options Program.
- Access to professional development resources to support your growth.
- Flexible working hours to help you maintain a healthy balance.
- Participation in our unique Work and Swim program, which offers a month of remote work in a corporate apartment in Cyprus.
How to apply
If you are passionate about empowering entrepreneurs and have the expertise to build world-class credit risk foundations, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our team as we continue to innovate and grow across the European market.
