At Finom, we are on a mission to reshape the financial world for entrepreneurs across Europe. Headquartered in Amsterdam, we have built an all-in-one platform that brings together banking, accounting, and invoicing into a single, mobile-first experience. With over $346 million in total funding, including a recent €115 million Series C round backed by investors like General Catalyst, we are growing rapidly across markets such as Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. We believe in fostering a culture where bold ideas are researched thoroughly and implemented swiftly, ensuring that our work creates real value for our users and our team.
The opportunity
We are looking for a visionary Credit Risk Manager to join us as we launch our new SME credit card product. This is a high-impact, senior-level role where you will work directly with our Chief Risk Officer and collaborate across teams like Product, Engineering, and Data Science. You will be responsible for designing our credit risk framework from the ground up, effectively building the foundation for our future in SME lending. This is your chance to shape a core part of our business and influence how we support entrepreneurs across Europe.
A day in the life
- Develop and own the end-to-end credit risk framework, including underwriting standards, scoring models, and risk appetite policies.
- Architect our data strategy by integrating diverse sources like transactional data, accounting software, and government registries to guide our machine learning teams.
- Establish a robust portfolio monitoring stack and early warning systems to manage credit health, payment patterns, and concentration risks.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional with over 5 to 7 years of experience in credit risk, specifically within the SME lending or credit card sectors. You bring a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of automated underwriting and risk governance. We value candidates who are comfortable working in an AI-native environment and who can balance rigorous risk control with a product-led growth perspective. You should be fluent in English and possess the ability to align diverse stakeholders across legal, finance, and technical teams. A quantitative degree in fields like statistics, econometrics, or data science is a strong plus, as is familiarity with European regulatory frameworks like EMI or PS4.
Why you'll love it here
We are committed to your growth and well-being as we scale. When you join our team, you can look forward to the following:
- Stock options to ensure you share in the success of the company.
- The freedom of remote work with flexible location options across Europe.
- Dedicated resources for your professional development.
- A supportive, modern, and inclusive culture that values diversity and innovation.
