We are looking for a Senior Creative Marketing Editor to join our team for a temporary, six-month, on-site assignment in Hillsboro, Oregon. At LAIKA, we are renowned for our unique approach to animation, and this role is vital to our mission of bringing our films and studio initiatives to life. You will serve as a key bridge between our production, VFX, and marketing departments, helping to shape our editorial pipeline while creating compelling content for film promotions, social media, events, and consumer products.
Key outcomes
- Produce high-quality video content, including trailers, commercials, featurettes, social media assets, and behind-the-scenes material.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to brainstorm and align our content strategy with the broader vision of the studio.
- Execute professional color correction to ensure consistent skin tones, brightness, and contrast across all media.
- Perform audio mixing to balance dialogue, music, and sound effects for a polished final product.
- Partner with our Media Services team to maintain high standards for post-production finishing and archival processes.
- Integrate marketing efforts into our existing Avid pipeline by building strong relationships with our film production and VFX editorial teams.
- Maintain a unified visual aesthetic that reflects the distinct branding of LAIKA.
- Manage project files, editorial workflows, and quality assurance with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience in an editorial or multimedia role, accompanied by a relevant portfolio or reel.
- Proven editorial background within a film, television, commercial, or social media production environment.
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, with additional experience in Avid Media Composer considered a significant advantage.
- Advanced skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, Photoshop, and Lightroom, with After Effects knowledge as a plus.
- Technical expertise in HD, 2k, 4k, and HDR workflows, including a deep understanding of frame rates, aspect ratios, timecode, codecs, and transcoding.
- Strong technical familiarity with file formats and exchange protocols such as QuickTime, EDLs, XMLs, and AAFs.
- Excellent communication skills, a highly collaborative mindset, and a keen eye for storytelling, timing, and film language.
